My passport is going to expire on 05/03/09. I am living in Dallas. Can i send my renewal request application by mail. Do you guys think i am too late to get the passport renewal. Meanwhile, i am going to read this thread and understand it.

Yes He is correct. You have the full June to file.

On August 3, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

American Families united is an orgalization that is trying to bring legislative changes to family related issue including the Age out issue. This is their website.

Its all about money, to get our voices heard thats what we need to employ a lobbyist, unless we happen to know a congressman or his aides
Have been speaking with Connie Mack's office who has a copy of my law suite also Adam Putman's office, seem interested.
We all need to write to our congress people to raise awareness.

When did you get your FP notice? I filed on 7/1, still waiting for FP. My FP for I-485 is just 6 months old. Will it have any bearing?
I e-filed both EAD and AP together for my wife on 6/30. Got AP approval but no FP for EAD yet.

I have been in the US for 10 years, have owned a home for the entire time, and I am currently on H1B. My employer will not sponsor me for no particular reason and all the horror stories about GC processing have discouraged me from pursuing it on my own. Those of us who are lucky to have high paying jobs and good employers can very look down on the folks that don't have healthcare. However, health care is now a human right declared by United Nations in Dec 1948. In the US, the largest developed nation, there are millions who cannot get healthcare (only emergency care). Even if this healthcare doesn't reduce it drastically in the short term, it will stem the rising costs eventually. That is the long term projection at least. Think about how much cheaper prescription drugs are in Canada when compared to the US.
I think that "what we are debating here is "what is better for the US". You and I can contribute to the SS and Medicare system that we are not allowed to draw from until we have greencards or become naturalized citizens. The illegals you mention are in the same boat. The point that I am making is that the anti-immigration lobby sees all immigrants in a single light. If we try to divide ourselves away from the low-skilled we are not going to get anywhere. Immigration in general touches a number issues - civil and human rights, economics, etc.. By trying to distance ourselves from any of these issues, we are in fact make it more difficult for ourselves. For the record, I do want a green card, I want a fair system. I don't believe in treating one person different from another because of their background or the kind of work they perform. (that's just to give some perspective regarding my views on the issue). I think we are not reaching all the ppl that we can as of yet. If we can setup booths in front of Indian Community centers in various cities, post flyers at Indian grocery stores etc, we would be able to reach a much wider audience. I think we might be reaching the maximum number of ppl that would contribute who are browsing this web site. No amount of requests would get non-contributers to contribute. So, probably the efforts should be concentrated on getting newer members from outside...
Yes this is definately a good idea and will help us reach many people unaware of IV. We represent about a million people stuck in retrogression and have only got 8500 of them.
Pls help us with these efforts by executing your ideas in your own state. Once you start, and tell others what you are doing I am sure many others will follow you. You will find posters and flyers in resources section of this website.

I agree that going through this again next year is irritating (which is euphemistic, at best), but...
assuming for a second that CIS is willing to give you a replacement card with 2-year validity, are you willing to send them the card you have finally received (after another nerve racking wait) so they can process your request? I don't think so...

I am feeling very envious of people having their applications processed at the TSC. TSC as seen by the examples above are renewing EAD in 2 weeks.
However, NSC is taking 2 months to process these EADs. There is a big difference between processing logic at NSC v/s TSC
I think the employee diversity at TSC is big compared to NSC. Therefore, people add their heart to work and processing is faster. In other words, Intent is pure. If you pay a higher fee for a service you get the return.
Contrast that with NSC. The employee diversity is poor. Employees are working just because it is a government job and their intentions are questionable, therefore a big lag in processing.
Hope the courts teach NSC a lesson, that nobody is above the law and they should be processing cases quickly as compared to their TSC counterparts. Hope somebody is listening.

I did not ask you to explain any thing to me. You needed to make a good argument on why this idea can channelize negative energy into positive and what are the risks involved. What can any one infer when you end your post with "Now lets play"? You might not have intended what it meant but it can mean different things to different people and I guess you would agree that there are people who think as I do about day trading. Please do not guess my knowledge of day trading and what it is limited to. Your initial post does not underscore the risks significantly. IMHO, Day trading fits a specific set of people who can not only handle the risk but also can handle the stress. Your feelings might be different. How ever, some one else pointed out the research done on day trading.
While I appreciate your noble intention to channelize the negative energy, the potential risk of getting a double whammy (immigration + stocks) needed to be underscored and I think did that. I will leave it there and do not want to take this discussion further on my opinions about day trading and it's nitty gritty.

I filed on March 26th in TSC (paper filing). Got receipt dated April 7th. Still waiting. I cannot continue the job as my H1B expired. Anybody knows what should I do to get it expedited. I guess people at USCIS are very unpredictable and work according to the mood. I did not anticipate this as earlier I filed EAD for my wife and son and I got it in three weeks.
