Houston and SanFrancisco usually have delays in renewing passport.
It took 41 days for mine to get renewed from Houston. The original submitted application was good and no followup was required, still it took 41 days in Houston

Based on RUMORs that "USCIS may get allergic reaction to too many 485 files, and stop accepting them in mid-July" I asked my lawyer this question:
I have a question about July Visa bulletin. If the August bulletin is retrogressed when announced in mid-July, can the USCIS change rules and stop accepting new Adjustment of status petitions in mid-July ? I know that it sounds illogical and that July bulletin's current dates would apply thru July 31st but I am hearing from my professional colleagues that USCIS could change rules and stop accepting new AOS petitions in middle of the month.
And I got this reply :
Yes, what you raise is quite illogical. The visa bulletin controls which AOS can be filed during the calendar month for which it is published, there is no way for USCIS to stop receiving an AOS application received say on July 16th. AOS is not like an H1B filing, where there is a finite # that must be received by a date certain and then allocated.
See, hear that ? "NO WAY FOR USCIS". Now, I dont know why some lawyers are spreading this nonsense that "BEWARE, USCIS will stop accepting new petitions if they receive 'too many petitions'. What is 'too many ??? Who defines 'too many'? Is 'too many' defined as the time when the mail room clerk gets back pain from lifting boxes of petitions ? Or the guy printing 485 receipt notices gets carpel tunnel syndrome ?

What exactly do they mean by electronic re-validation? Aren't all FPs stored electronically anyway? And they validate it everytime you re-enter the country or apply for EAD....

As some of you know, I have been working with news media, government leaders, and immigration lawyers over the past year because of the stimulus debacle. As a result, I have developed some strong contacts in government. I will be meeting some congressional immigration staffers in the next few days and I have developed a list of issues to discuss. If you want to post your own issues, feel free to do so in this thread and I will add them to the list. These are the same people who helped get the last stimulus bill changed in our favor, so they do have influence.
PLEASE be brief - bullet points would be good.
Also links to articles to support your concerns are welcome. I will put together a package to hand out at the meeting.

Since there is difference between eggs and ideas, duplicate the ideas and put them in other ways also, apart from just here.

Mirage, I disagree with you. Let us focus on reaching out as requested by this campaign activity. This is NOT the time to debate or get distracted.
Each and every call counts. It all adds up. This is a democracy. The more calls that these offices get, we have a better chance that they would take a balanced view towards these bills.
So, please do NOT get distracted or get into long drawn debates. the admins have done a lot of the groundwork, given a script and are asking people to call. Let us not second guess them or try to play 'smart alec'.

I am writing to the local congressmen, to request USCIS to apply the spillover visas to EB cases with older priority date first (irrespective of it's category or country). I hope this will help, if lot of these local congressmen/women contact USCIS to handle this spillover in a fair manner, allocating to older priority date cases first irrespective of category or country. All EB3 folks please take some time and do the same writing to your congressmen about this issue.

I guess DOS/DHS won't provide all documentation, just like recent firing of US attorney.
I wonder how much power these committees have. It is clear from her letter that DOS/DHS chose not to respond to her or send her any info and defy her request to continue accepting AOS applications until she had a chance to review the matter closely. Committee has the subpoena power to force the document release and hold hearing but if DOS/DHS ignore her letter again, I wonder what would she do.
I guess the deadline is tomorrow so we'll see how this unfolds.

I think you can still file the follow-to-join application after you get your greencard. You can do it only in the first 180 days after the approval.

So what you are saying is, if one does not has the Vaccination record, concern DR would do this immunization (Antibody titer) test in place of vaccination record and can you confirm that you have gone thru exact scenario ?
