My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
Thats a lot of money for EAD & AP. The law firm might be charging 2 grand for your 485 and another grand for your spouse's 485. You dont need a lawyer for filing EAD & AP. You can file them youself along with the 485 application or after getting a receipt number from USCIS for your 485 application. Ask your law firm to prepare 485 for you and your spouse and return the application packet to you. You can sign it off, add your EAD & AP applications and send it to NSC. I supsect they would be willing to do so. By not giving them they would be forcing you to file EAD & AP through them, given that the fees for everything is going up from next month.

Current does not mean beyond your PD. There is no mention of PD's being current anytime soon.
What I mean is the analysis is too optimistic for EB2 China/India, which is hard for me to believe.

Pune, India in 1996, i just filled out a form, attached a no objection certificate from my company and got a check in 2 weeks. I did not have to pay a dime, i wasnt asked any. I guess it was probably because i was in no rush to get the money.
I try not to pay out money in india, it takes time to get things done, but they do get done...maybe things have changed alot since, but i hope it should not be that bad.
I do not know in which city of India you took out your PPF.,
But I heard you have to pay atleast 5% to get PPF back in Hyd.,
Hope corruption will not be that high by next 20 years in India!!

I understand you don’t care about the United States and its people and you’re only interested in what you can gain from them but if you weren’t so blinded by greed you’d see this is something else they can give to you. Now I know why I took the route I did, I would have accomplished far less in my personal life with the likes of you. In fact, I may doing to much sharing my expertise with you. Also, many large companies, when applying for jobs on their websites, mandatorily require you to state your visa status. While self-identification (race, sex) is always optional and cannot be required (by law, there will always be a statement that says submission of this info is voluntary).
They cannot ask it if it is illegal, and clearly this information is used in the employment process.

hey guys I think its OK now to call IV as Indian organization with this bulltin and per their statement there is a good chance that ROW will move ahead and we will be stuck EB3 India in particular
If you don't stop saying comments like this, you'll totally alienated people like me. It is a global issue, doesn't matter where you are from. People from all nationalities are affected. Oh guess what, it wasn't just Indian nationals who saw no movement.
Or, if you truly feel this way, I'll take my donations elsewhere, and I'll stop meeting with lawmakers on everyone's behalf.

Why is everyone blaming just the Chinese University for trying to circumvent the immigration system? It says 95% of the students were from Andhra Pradesh. These are the people who are causing delays in reforms and we pay the price by being stuck in the hole. The founders and all these students should be deported and banned from entering the US for life.

MSFT do not abuse h1b visa - they maintain their pay scales and follow all rules. When they say they want h1b visa quota available it basically means - they do not want to turn away a talented candidate because of lack of visa. All these companies are genuine in their usage. So they can definitely give a proper response.
Now for a company like INFY. WIPRO, etc.. - h1b, l1b etc.. is a part of their business modal. They need some visa to bring people in and out as it is a big part of their business. If they really were serious - they must have presented their case and also work with US govt for a different kind of visa that allows them to do their business by convincing the govts about trade etc...
Now comes the consulting companies. There are companies that genuinely bring people and rotate them at various clients for projects and people stick to them till green card. But due to sheer greed - some of these have abused the system - they have absolutely no sympathy for their acts of greed. The max they can do is threaten, usse small time lawyers, cancel pay, write letters to USCIS to cancel 140 etc... do you expect them to give a proper response to the Senators?

I am in a similar situation and have a very simple question. Can I port from EB3 to EB2, while on EAD? I do not have a valid H1. AFAIK porting needs re-filing a labor application, hence the confusion.

Is it a good idea to carry all my degree/masters certificates plus experience certificates along with that.
The only thing that came to my mind is regarding verification of degree certificates or experience letters mentioned on your Biographic Information form. Go to Local office and check.

Well, you are missing the most important point - Illegal immigrant's probably don't care about the future of the country's educational direction. Family based immigrants don't care either. However WE are EB immigrants and we value education and that is exactly what we demonstrate by doing this. We should not be looking to fund hundreds of thousands of student's college education - heck even the mighty US government cannot do that. We are not a political organization. The way this will go out in the media is - these guys could have used the money to lobby with senators or other congressmen, instead, they choose to use it for a good cause. This is highly symbolic. And the key here is to involve the first lady. The moment you involve the first lady, it become apolitical.
Oh, and btw, we are not buying our way into a GC. Nowhere did I mention that. We, EB immigrants value education and hence want to donate for an educational charity/cause. We don't expect a GC by doing this - this is highly symbolic; however if the Obama administration takes up CIR this year and we start this campaign and this happens to go to the first lady and gain media attention at the right time, perhaps the administration would include legal immigration in the CIR which would have otherwise not been included.
Timing is critical to this. If we gain media attention a few weeks before CIR comes up for debate, we might have Legal, EB Immigration included into it. And CIR this year is our only chance and hope and if EB immigration is not considered parts of CIR, then we might as well kiss our GCs good bye.

Do we seriously think the media and common man will believe that we are suddenly doing this out of the goodness of our hearts and a genuine concern for educational system in us - most people will see it as a well timed publicity stunt to influence decision making in our favor.

Considering the current economic situation, i donot expect much progress in addressing country quota elimination/CIR's.
We should atleast try to get our issues addressed in bits and pieces. Overall, anything to address retrogression should be welcomed! rather than 'debate and beat the horse to death.'

After waiting in limbo for so long....even an RFE sounds like sweet news :) . I am hoping its about something simple like Employment verification or something (My company is Fortune 100 , so I don't think it would be about ability to pay). And hoping there are no other delays on the way (like Namecheck etc)
So at last they opened my case. I hope the RFE gets resolved soon, before the dates retrogress or become 'U'. As of now my PD is current in Nov as well. So crossing my fingers!

Thats a very good suggestion. He should lobby to create a new categoy of Green Card for "MBBS".
